SIGMA X-80 - Aluminum vertical 80-6 meters end-fed without radials

The X-80 is an "end-fed" vertical antenna, capable of allowing the user to work from 80 meters up to 6 meters using an ATU. Does not require mass counterweight.
The antenna can be pole mounted at ground level or elevated depending on the user's personal requirements. The antenna has a nominal power of 400W. The antenna is supplied with fixings and installation guide.

How does it work:
The antenna is powered using 50 Ohm coaxial cable via a SO-239 socket at the base of the unit which goes to a 6:1 UNUN
The transformer is located in an IP65 waterproof sealed box at the bottom of the antenna. The antenna comes in four aluminum parts. The transformer reduces the impedance at the feed point to a more acceptable level which makes the antenna much more efficient and allowing correct and easy tuning via an external ATU and automatic ATUs built into the radios.

The antenna can be grounded if the user detects excessive local static noise, but since the UNUN is shorted to DC, grounding will not affect the match

Antenna per chi ha problemi di spazio e non pretende troppo. Necessita di un accordatore per poter funzionare al meglio.

Antenna leggerissima, tarata da me a m 5,30 per i 14 MHz, lavora perfettamente sui 20 metri. Accorda anche sulle frequenze più alte, ma sui 40 metri occorre un accordatore manuale.
Tutto sommato fa il suo lavoro a lambda/4 e con un piccolo aiuto anche sui 7 MHz.
Occorrono 20 minuti per montarla, molto semplice, un buon acquisto.

L'antenna per quanto riguarda la mia installazione non mi ha minimamente soddisfatto, tanto che dopo pochi giorni è stata smontata e riposta in cantina. La fattura è buona per il prezzo che ha. Successivamente ripresa dalla cantina ed impiegato il materiale per la costruzione di un altra antenna. Allungata prima a 8,20m poi a 9,70 e quindi trasformata in una canna da pesca, sostituito il balun alla base che la scheda tecnica definisce 6:1 mentre nel mio caso era un 4:1 neanche di buona fattura. Buona come antenna per chi si avvicina al mondo della radio, vuole spendere poco ed avere qualcosa per iniziare ad ascoltare.
