Cutting-edge technology Enhance a classic design
At the heart of the ACOM 2000A is a Classic HF amplifier design, employing two high-performance Svetlana 4CX800A (GU74B) performance metal ceramic tetrodes operating in a grid-driven configuration. This design was chosen for its inherent stability and extremely low production of spurious emissions. ACOM coupled this tried-and-true setup with technology today's most advanced digital control to create an amplifier with performance exceptional features and reliability.

Signal : Excellent transceiver load (typically below 1.2:1 input VSWR), and regulated SG voltage result of extremely low distorted output. Typical measured IMD are - 40dB (order 3-rd) and - 45dB (5-th order). Classic Pi-L mains, all coils with air (without ferrite), and the carefully designed layout of the outlet tank deliver emissions typical low harmonics as low as - 55dBc (second) and below - 70dBc (third and above). Thus, probability of QRM, BCI or TVI is dramatically minimized.

Adjustment completely automatic
The automatic tuning functions in ACOM 2000A represent a real revolution in the design of HF amplifiers. Never think to an ATU for VSWR up to 3:1 (2:1 at 160 m). Match the antenna impedances real to the optimal tube loading is fully automated. VSWR may increase considerably when an antenna is driven by its resonant frequency. Unlike other amplifiers on the market today, the output matching network ACOM 2000 allows the amplifier to operate at full power, even with VSWR as high as 3:1 (2:1 at 160m).

Advanced Digital Control: Control microprocessor improves performance and makes possible a wide range of new advanced functions.

Full break-in (QSK) based on a built-in vacuum relay. Transmit / receive Switching sequence is guaranteed by a dedicated microprocessor.

Remote Control Unit: RCU Dimensions: 167 x 130 x 25mm (6-2/3" x 5-1/8" x 1").
Only the remote control must be positioned close to the operator. The main unit can be installed up to 3 meters (10 feet) away. RCU features include: amplifier status displayed on the LCD display, control of all functions, measurement and/or monitoring of the 20 most important parameters, on-board technical assistance, Troubleshooting tips, record power-on hours, password provided.

Easy maintenance
The protection system makes damaging the amplifier a difficult job. Information about the 12 most recent protection trips is stored in an INFO BOX for remote diagnostics via telephone line, PC and Internet.

RS232 and network: All functions they are accessible from a PC via the RS232 serial port. Local network may include unit/antenna more than one working set amplifier in a system.

All tube voltages and currents, supply voltages, overheating, overdrive, insufficient cooling air flow, internal and external RF arcs (in amplifier, antenna selector, tuner or antennas), T/R sequencing, hot switching antenna relay contact, corresponding antenna quality, power reflected, stored data, inrush current and interlock for safety of the operator. Antenna matching can be done in less than 10 seconds and at a quarter of the rated power, which produces a lower risk of interference with other stations and greater safety to the amplifier components.


- RF output: 1500-2000 W or SSB coded carrier - without time limits. Constant carrier mode 1500W RF output - unlimited of time with auxiliary cooling fan.

- Frequency coverage: All amateur bands 1.8-24.5 MHz. 28 MHz only with modification by authorized amateurs.

- Bandchange / Tuneup: initial matching process out in less than 3 seconds (typically 0.5 seconds). Matching presets /bandchange process takes less than 0.2 seconds to switch to different segment, same band and less than 1 second for different band QSY.

- Memory optimization: non-volatile for a maximum of 10 antennas per frequency segment.

- Driving power: Typically 50W for 1500W output.

- Input impedance: 50 ohm nominal. VSWR <1.5: 1.

- Power tolerance: up to 3:1 VSWR (2:1 up 160m) at full rated power before the active SWR protection circuit. Superior Low output SWR tolerated.

- Harmonics: At least 50 dB below peak in 1500W output.

- Intermodulation: at least 35 dB below output peak at 1500W.

- T/R and keying: Vacuum Relay: QSK capable.

- Tubes and circuit: 4CX800A / GU74B tetrodes (2); grill resistive, PI-L output with RF negative feedback. Regulated screen grid voltage.
