Bookable1/4 λ Ground Plane multiband vertical antenna fed at the base for the following HAM bands: 20, 17, 15 12, 10 and 6m.
Extremely robust construction in AW6063-T66 aluminum alloy and CNC machined parts.
Supplied with quality 304 and 316 stainless steel screws for long rust-free service.
High applicable input power, up to 3Kw continuous All-mode.
Detailed assembly manual and serial number identifying the production batch and construction data.
For our tubes we have used the best material available for the construction of antennas; it is the alloy of Aluminum, Magnesium and Silicon called AW6063-T66, tempered to the T-66 state. It gives the stylus an exceptional resistance, which is achieved by extrusion and subsequently cold drawn.
Extremely robust in construction, the central stylus uses 42x2mm diameter tubes at the base, and 19x1.25mm diameter at the tip, while the side stubs and ground plane radials are 13 and 10mm diameter telescopic tubes.
The ground plane is made up of 4 horizontal radials of about 2.7m length, and the vertical stubs are held in place by 3 spiders, the first connected to the base of the stylus is made of rectangular section aluminum tubes machined with CNC machines, and the other 2 are made of thermoplastic material, one with 4 arms in the middle part, and one with 2 arms in the upper part.
All the screws are made of stainless steel, the pipes are fixed with sturdy quality clamps in AISl-316 stainless steel, the brackets, the screws, and the U-bolt and V-bolt are in AISl-304 stainless steel.

The basic idea was to create an efficient antenna, without the use of traps that reduce its efficiency, and without the use of impedance transformers that limit the applicable power.
Starting from these assumptions, we created MV6, which, using resonant elements parallel (stubs) to the central stylus, allowed us to create an antenna efficient on all the bands covered.
The whip is composed of a central radiator for the lower 20m band flanked by 4 lateral stubs that resonate on the higher bands 17,15,12,10 + VHF 6m. The lateral stubs are 1/4 of a full wavelength without traps that would reduce their efficiency. The antenna is powered directly without the use of adapters or impedance transformers that would introduce losses and limit the applicable power, it is equipped with a high impedance inductor that creates a short circuit in DC, dispersing to ground any disturbances caused by atmospheric events and/or electrostatic discharges.
Calibration is done by adjusting the telescopic parts of the stubs and the central stylus, each frequency is independent and does not interact with the other bands, except for the 17m band which also determines the resonance of the 6m: We recommend using a graphic antenna analyzer such as Rig-Expert or Nano VNA which makes calibration much easier.
NOTE:
If used in very windy areas, bracing with NON-conductive cables using the supplied brace is recommended.
It is recommended to use a CHOKE installed immediately below the connector to avoid possible RF returns on the coaxial.
Now the MV6 comes with an original FAIR-RITE Made in USA FT240-43 ferrite toroid for the “Home Made” creation of your high performance Choke. This feature allows you to significantly attenuate common mode currents in the HF band (1.8-30MHz), which could reduce the performance of your antenna.
Material not supplied at the customer's expense for the realization:
- N.2 PL259 connectors suitable for the type of cable you intend to use.
- (1 PL259 + 1 SO239 in case of using a protective plastic box).
- Approximately 1.2m of good quality coaxial cable, type RG58 for continuous power up to 300 Watts AWG @ 30MHz, or RG142BU in Teflon for continuous power up to 1500 Watts AWG @ 30MHz.
We absolutely advise against using cables with expanded FOAM dielectric (spongy white dielectric) because they cannot be wrapped around the toroid without compromising its electrical characteristics.
The connector is not a commercial SO-239 type as used by most manufacturers. The connector has been designed and manufactured directly by us, has a real impedance of 50 Ohm and is usable up to 500MHz. We have made a reliable connector capable of withstanding the transit of 5kW CW continuous at 30MHz and more than 3kW at 50MHz.
The body is made of nickel-plated CW614N brass, while the pin is plated in 24K gold to avoid oxidation and is equipped with a 4-fin insulator that maintains its centering and elasticity, avoiding contact losses.
The insulating part is made of PTFE which is one of the best insulating materials for its exceptional electrical (low dielectric constant, and low loss factor) and thermal (operating temperature from -100° to +260°) properties and is protected by a special elastomer cap which prevents water and humidity infiltration.
