The 1st stage IF mixer for HF/ 50 MHz is a quad mixer with four dual-gate 3SK294 MOS-FET devices that offer very low noise, excellent intermodulation characteristics and high dynamic range. A dedicated mixer for the VHF/UHF bands, separate from the HF bands, allows for design optimization for the affected frequencies, resulting in superior performance.

Same high-speed floating-point DSP as used on the FTDX Series
The TMS320C6746 (3000 MIPS / 2250 MFLOPS) high-speed floating-point DSP chip from Texas Instruments enables excellent interference rejection with actual signals in real-world conditions, not only in HF, but also in the VHF and UHF bands.

Extremely effective interference rejection
The IF WIDTH and IF SHIFT functions, which are the basis for eliminating interference, are naturally integrated to optimize the effect. The effectiveness of interference rejection is further increased by the sophisticated functions inherited from the FT-DX series, such as the 16-stage digital noise reduction and the DNF (AUTO NOTCH) filter that quickly tracks even multiple beats. The CONTOUR function that easily highlights the desired signal with a natural sound; the NOTCH function with selectable bandwidth and other functions ensure convenient use in Contest and DX QSOs.

Final stage with large power reserves: 100 W for the HF /50 MHz band and 50 W for the VHF /UHF band

Thanks to a push-pull arrangement of RD1OOHHF1 MOS-FET devices renowned for excellent performance in the HF/50 MHz range, the amplifier delivers high-quality, low-distortion power at 100 watts.

High speed antenna tuner from 1.8 to 54 MHz supplied as standard

- The 50W amplifier for the VHF /UHF band ensures sufficient power for the high frequency bands
The final amplifier for the VHF and UHF bands uses the high-power RD70HUF2 MOS-FET device that includes two MOS-FETs in a single package, for a total power output of 50 watts.

- Compatibility for advanced C4FM digital functions

V/D mode for simultaneous voice and data transmissions with effective error correction, optimal for mobile applications and Voice FR * (Full Rate) mode for high-quality audio transmissions

- AMS function instantly recognizes digital mode or FM mode and allows mutual communication

- The GM (Group Monitor) function which allows you to easily check on screen the possible presence of group members within the transmission range

- 126 types of DSQ (Digital Squelch) allow exact selection of communication stations

* Data FR mode (high speed data communication mode) is not supported and therefore it is not possible to send/receive images in C4FM digital mode.

Advanced spectrum analyzer function with cascade display capability

A high-resolution spectrum analyzer, usually not available in this category of transceivers, allows instant evaluation of band conditions and exact selection of any desired station.
