The IC-7610 is an SDR (Software Defined Radio), All Mode HF/50 MHz transceiver operating in USB, LSB, CW, RTTY, PSK31/63, AM, FM.
The device uses direct RF sampling technology, a peculiarity of SDR (Software Defined Radio) devices and represents an important change in the world of amateur radio.
It is a technical solution that allows to reduce hardware complexity, significantly improving the signal/noise ratio.
The signals are in fact converted into digital data and then processed by the FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array).
The RF direct sampling system in the IC-7610 is capable of achieving an RMDR of 110 dB.
This performance allows to extract the weakest signals from the disturbances caused by the adjacent stronger signals and the result is excellent.
It is also necessary to reduce phase noise, which is a natural characteristic in a receiver.

The master clock of this device uses a low phase noise VCXO (Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator).
This technical solution, combined with years of Icom experience, made it possible to design a common power supply for VCXO and FPGA, producing extremely low phase noise.
Additionally, a 10 MHz reference source can be connected for increased accuracy.
Also highly appreciated is the Audio Scope function which allows you to monitor various audio characteristics such as the microphone compressor level, filter width, notch filter width and keying waveform in CW mode.

Another special feature of the IC-7610 is the dual receiver.

Two independent preselectors (DIGI-SEL) and two separate bandpass filter networks feed two independent A/D converters in the FPGA.
DIGI-SEL preselectors are RF filters that prevent overloading of the analog-to-digital (A/D) converter in the presence of strong out-of-band signals during sampling.
These features are especially useful during contests when receiving strong signals on adjacent frequencies or bands.

To further ensure clear and natural audio reproduction, the speaker is placed in a dedicated space, isolated from the transceiver chassis toavoid

any annoying resonance or vibration.

The IC-7610 features a large, high-resolution 7" TFT color LCD touch screen display for quick and intuitive operation.
Thanks to the controls on the screen, it will be possible to set the various functions with simplicity and precision.

Furthermore, the use of the multifunction knob, in combination with the touch screen display, further facilitates any search and setting operation.
When you press the multifunction knob, the menu items are shown on the right side of the display and you can select the desired item by simply touching the screen.

The IC-7610 has a built-in automatic antenna tuner with tuning memory. The tuner features an emergency function that allows operation for short periods of time with a high SWR antenna.

Other key features include IP remote control via the optional RS-BA1 software, a microSD card slot for data storage, and a DVI-D converter that allows you to view information such as operating frequency, spectrum analyzer, and more on an external monitor.
