MFJ-212 Tune your antenna tuner without transmitting a single milliwatt! No power. Fine tune your antenna tuner for 1:1 SWR, no additional “adjustments” required. Installation and operation The Match

The MakerTM MFJ-212 connects between your transceiver and antenna tuner. A 12 VDC, 300 mA power supply such as the MFJ-1312B should be used to provide an adequate power source for the Match MakerTM MFJ-212.

Use a standard 2.1mm coaxial plug with the center positive and the jacket grounded. Make sure the POWER switch on the front panel is in the OFF (out) position, then connect the power supply to the POWER jack on the rear panel.

Introduction

The new MFJ-212 MatchMaker™ lets you tune your antenna tuner without transmitting a single milliwatt! You can't cause QRM - there is no radiated power.

Adjust your tuner so that the receiver noise is zero, by ear or via the S-meter, and you will get a 1:1 SWR!

It is possible to fine tune the antenna tuner for a 1:1 SWR, without the need for any further "adjustments".

Note: The MFJ-212 can also be powered by a 9V alkaline battery. To access the battery connector, make sure the POWER switch on the front panel is in the OFF (out) position, remove the screw on each side of the MFJ-212, and remove the cover. Be sure to replace the cover before using the unit!

Connect the antenna output jack on your transmitter to the TRANS jack and the antenna tuner to the ANT jack on the MFJ-212. Power up your transmitter and tune it to the desired frequency.

Next, power up the MFJ-212 by pressing the POWER switch. The PWR LED on the front panel of the MFJ-212 should begin flashing and you should hear a pulsating “white noise” from your receiver.

Adjust your tuner for zero noise in the receiver by ear or via S-meter and you have a 1:1 SWR!

Now your antenna is paired to your transmitter!

Remember to turn off the MFJ-212 before using your transceiver.
