The AV-1KM hands-free kit consists of a microphone placed at the end of a long "goose neck", a convenient PTT switch and a cable suitable for the radio model in use. The microphone is usually fixed on the sun visor inside the car; Thanks to the long, flexible gooseneck the microphone can be positioned in so that it does not obstruct the view. The bistable PTT is installed in one place appropriate, such as the gear lever. The AV-1KM hands-free kit is supplied with several cables, each suitable for a certain model of transceiver or to a certain manufacturer. A red LED indicates the status of the PTT, this helps avoid inadvertent transmissions.

The AV-1KM hands-free basic kit contains the cable for the radio with the connector modular (RJ). This is the most used cable for mobile transceivers in FM. For Icom or Kenwood radios with 8-pin round connector (Foster), this is required an additional adapter cable.
