Measuring a mere 25 x 25 x 34 mm, the Code Cube is a full-featured electronic memory keyer that plugs into any Palm Mini Paddle - no external wiring, just plug it in. And for those who prefer a different paddle, there will be a stand-alone version of the Code Cube with a powder-coated aluminum housing. The Code Cube utilizes the popular Jackson Harbor Press PK4 chip. It is powered by the readily available, long lasting (200 mAh) CR2032 3V Lithium Cell (included). | ![]() |

The Code Cube keying speed is adjustable from 5 to 39 WPM not through a hard to find menu, but via a handy thumbwheel. The preferred speed range can be selected with a trim pot on the bottom of the PCB. We also integrated a sidetone oscillator which drives the built-in piezo buzzer for code practicing and programming as well as side-tone if your radio doesn't have it. The tone frequency can be adjusted from 500 Hz to about 7KHz, covering the resonant frequency of the piezo buzzer of about 4 KHz. SMD parts are used to realize this miniature keyer. | ||
The Code Cube has two 50+ character memories making it usable for most contest exchanges. It also features storage of your callsign and automatic CQ generation, so you don't have to devote one of the two memories to a CQ!The unit will be available in black or gray color options for the plastic parts: buttons, wheel, and housing to match either your paddles or rig. | ![]() |
The Code Cube (CC) was designed as an addition to the Mini Paddle. The combination of these two units creates the world?s smallest full featured electronic memory keyer and paddle. The Code Cube plugs into any Palm Mini Paddle - no external wiring required, just plug it in.
The electronic circuit is built around the well-known PK4 processor from Jackson Harbor press with a special customized software version for Palm Radio (version 83P).
Among it's other features, it offers two text memories with 80 characters each and a separate call sign memory. Various CQ and beacon modes, selectable Iambic Modes A/B, addtional Dot / Dash memories and other features make the Code Cube a keyer which leaves almost nothing left to be desired.
The CC (idle current 0,01uA) is powered from a 3V lithium battery. The readily available, long lasting (200 mAh) CR 2032 allows many hours of operation.
The Code Cube keying speed is adjustable from 5 to 50 WPM not through a hard to find menu, but via a handy thumbwheel. The preferred speed range of the speed potentiometer can be defined and programmed by the user.
We also integrated a sidetone oscillator which drives the built-in piezo buzzer for Morse Code practicing and for programming. It also can serve as a side-tone if your radio doesn't have one. The tone frequency can be adjusted from 500 Hz to about 7KHz, covering the resonant frequency of the piezo buzzer of about 4 KHz. If you prefer to practice Morse Code silently, the keying output can be converted to a headphone output for 3,5mm plugs. To do this, simply change the position of a jumper and set the CC to it's practice mode (menu 4, item "PR").
The Code Cube is being delivered inside a Travel Case, also a connecting cable. The cable has a stereo phone plug on one end, depending on your transceiver input jack we supply also one 3,5mm (1/8 inch) and one 6,3mm (1/4 inch) stereo plugs that needs to be soldered on accordingly.
If you wish to use the Code Cube with a different set of paddles than the Mini Paddle, we also offer the Code Cube inside a small, powdercoated aluminium housing - this version is called "Code Cube Solo". The hardware parts to convert a regular Code Cube Module to this version is also seperately available (Housing Kit, HK-CC). The paddles are connected through the supplied three-pole cable.
The Code Cube is also available in an infrared version (CC-IR). In combination with an appropriate IR reveiver, wireless keying of a transceiver becomes possible! The IR option can easily be upgraded to a regular Code Cube any time (IR-Upgrade Kit, IR-UGK-CC).
